Time for a Boost

The sun is out and the days are getting longer so now is a great time to give yourself a boost to stay up later and play a little longer.  Booster shots are a quick a simple way to boost energy, immunity, mood and more.

Why boost?  Sometimes our body needs a little more than we are getting from our food or supplements.  Some vitamins, such as Vitamin B12 (or methylcobalamin) require a special carrier molecule (called intrinsic factor) to absorb properly.  Others, such as vitamin D, are hard to find in food and scarce through sunlight in Vancouver.  Abnormal or deficient levels of important vitamins and minerals can cause serious health conditions including depression, anemia, thyroid disorders, hormone imbalance, high blood pressure (also called hypertension), high cholesterol, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, MS and cancer.

What booster?  Depending on how you are feeling or what your blood work says can help determine what nutrients you need in a booster.  Your doctor will help you determine what nutrients are low and create a treatment plan to get you back on track.

 Here are our top 5:

Energy Boost:  Vitamin B12 is the main player in this little gem.

Mood Boost:  containing 10 000 IU of Vitamin D3

Immune Boost:  a combination of vitamin and minerals to support your immune system

Beauty Boost:  this one has a high dose of Vitamin A; great for skin, teeth and hair

Weight Loss Boost:  a trifecta of minerals methionine, inositol and choline designed to stimulate your metabolism.

Boosters are safe and effective.  If you don’t have time to sit for a whole IV (although we highly recommend you try one sometime!) this is a great way to give your body a little boost!
